Pope Paul VI established the Eparchy of Parma Feb. 21, 1969. Parma’s first eparch was Bishop Emil Mihalik (1969-1984), followed by Bishop Andrew Pataki (1984-1996), Bishop Basil Schott (1996-2002), and Bishop John Kudrick (2002-2016).

The eparchy also operates the Shrine of Our Lady of Mariapoch.

It encompasses the geographical area of Ohio (except the eastern border counties), Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
